DMV Photo ID
The Metro Youth Football League has decided to eliminate it's requirement of providing original birth certificates to play football in MYFL. However, as a replacement to the original birth certificate ALL football players (new and returning) are now required to provide a DMV issued Child ID Card. As was the case with birth certificates, these cards will be collected on the first night of practice and returned to the players after roster night in late August. This change does not effect cheerleaders who are still only required to provide a photo copy of their birth certificate in their first year of registration with MYFL.
DMV Child ID cards can be obtained at any Virginia DMV office at a cost of $10 per child. We have provided links at the left side of this email that include instructions for obtaining your child's ID, the application form, and the list of acceptable documents required to obtain your child's ID card.
I went to DMV today to obtain cards for my three children. I downloaded the application form and completed it prior to leaving for the DMV. I took with me each child's original birth certificate and my VA driver's license. Once I arrived it took approximately 25 minutes to check-in, wait to be seen, have my documents reviewed, and have photos taken of my three children. I was told that the ID cards would be mailed to my home within 7 to 10 business days but it most cases they are delivered sooner.
